Mansfield Woman To Run Falmouth Road Race For Joe Andruzzi Foundation

Michelle Tsimtsos of Mansfield will run this year's New Balance Falmouth Road Race in support of the Foundation's mission.

From the Joe Andruzzi Foundation:

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) – an organization committed to solving the financial distress a cancer diagnosis can cause in the lives of patients and families throughout New England – is pleased to announce that Michelle Tsimtsos of Mansfield will run this year’s New Balance Falmouth Road Race in support of the Foundation’s mission.

On Sunday, August 20, over 60 “Team JAF” runners will take strides against cancer and represent the Foundation in the scenic 7-mile run through the heart of Cape Cod. Last year’s team raised more than $100,000 for the Foundation and the 2017 team hopes to go even higher.

Michelle attended the JAF Boston Marathon Watch Party in 2016 when she began talking to a cancer survivor whose husband was running the marathon in her honor. After hearing first-hand how the foundation touches the lives of those living with cancer, Michelle decided she too wanted to join the cause, and run in support of an organization that helps so many.

As a fitness professional for over 25 years, Michelle has always aimed to inspire others around her to push themselves, and focus on what they want to achieve. Now, as a team JAF member, she looks forward to running for all of those people who now cannot. To train, Michelle has been running for at least an hour three times a week, and has also joined the Wampanaug Road Runners Club to keep on top of her training in preparation for the race.

“We are thrilled to have Michelle as a Foundation ambassador and are thankful for all she is doing to further our mission,” said Jen Andruzzi, Executive Director of JAF. “Michelle’s efforts are directly benefitting cancer patients and families in need. We are grateful for the efforts our runners are making to prepare for this race and we are excited to come together this August to take on the course for a great cause.”

Michelle has pledged to raise at least $1,500 and has been using social media posts and business contacts to increase awareness of the Foundation’s goals. To help Michelle reach her goal, visit her fundraising page here.
