No Fines For Late-Running Xfinity Center Shows
The selectmen voted not to issue fines for a pair of concerts that went past the 11 p.m. curfew.

MANSFIELD, MA — The Xfinity Center will avoid over $1,500 in fines for two concerts that ran late.
The board voted 3-1 against levying an $834.10 fine for a late-ending Chris Stapleton concert and $689.07 for a Keith Urban show that went three minutes past the 11 p.m. curfew.
The vote was a reversal against past board policy of fining almost any show that went a second past curfew. But the majority of this board felt that issuing a fine for two shows that went less than five minutes past the curfew was not needed.

"I know we have a deadline, and we want them to hit that but three minutes... I think they’re doing their best," Selectman Neil Rhein said.
Selectman Jess Aptowtiz was the only board member to vote for the fines and take a hardline with the venue.

"The last thing we want to do is pull the plug in the middle of a song but the band and (Xfinity Center GM Jeff Mann) know ahead of time. They’re aware of it and Jeff won’t be surprised to see us move forward on this," Aptowitz said. "They have a clock on the stage, they know what time it is."
If the fine was approved, the money would have gone into the town's general fund.
