#RelayFirstLap2019 kicks off fundraiser season
Local volunteers joined thousands around the world in a virtual lap.
Volunteers with the Relay For Life of Mansfield Foxboro Sharon, from left to right, Connor Walsh, Theresa Freeman, Theresa Munroe, Drew Munroe, Julie Flynn and Brandon Howland DeSimone, met on Saturday, Jan. 5, to take a ceremonial first lap around the Ahern Middle School track to start the 2019 season. They united with thousands of volunteers around the world taking a virtual first lap on Jan. 5 to kick off the season for the American Cancer Society fundraiser. The event was chronicled on social media with the hashtag #RelayFirstLap2019. This year’s local fundraiser is set to start Saturday, June 15, at 4 p.m., at the Ahern Middle School in Foxboro.
