RI Firm To Buy Benny's Properties, Including Mansfield Location

MANSFIELD, MA — The properties that are home to the stores of the soon to be closed Benny's has a buyer, according to reports.

The Carpionato Group, a Rhode Island real estate firm, confirmed Tuesday that they have purchased 29 of the 31 Benny's locations, including the Mansfield store on Copeland Drive. Financial terms were not announced and the deal is expected to close next year, according to WPRI.

Citing a change in the retail landscape for brick and mortar stores, the discount store announced in September that the ownership family has decided to retire and they will close all their locations by the end of the year. Mansfield has a Benny's located on Copeland Drive.

Kelly Coates, a senior vice president at Carpionato, told WPRI that they are analyzing the best use of the locations, but warned that the process will take time.

All but three Benny's have closed, with the remaining stores expected to shut their doors for good by the end of the year.
