School Disruption In Mansfield Due to Crash, Heat Issue

An accident closed the Pine Street bridge Monday morning, while a heat problem canceled Roland Green Preschool early session.

MANSFIELD, MA — It was a bumpy Monday morning for many with children in Mansfield schools. A crash closed the Pine Street bridge to buses, while a heating issue forced the cancellation of the morning session at Roland Green Preschool.

Mansfield schools sent out a notice during the morning commute that Pine Street was closed due to a crash and that buses could not get through to Plain Street, Brown Street and Hidden Lane. Mansfield police reported about 9:30 a.m. that the street had reopened, but going was slow due to work being done on a utility pole damage in the area after a car hit the pole.

A Mansfield police photo of the accident scene showed a sedan rolled over and severely damaged with debris strewn all over the road in the vicinity of Lakeview Street. Mansfield fire said the male driver was extricated from the car and taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
