Second Mansfield Home Invasion Suspect In Custody: Police

MANSFIELD, MA — The second man identified as a suspect in a December home invasion on Stearns Avenue has been taken into custody. Mansfield police said Barry Green, 50, was taken into custody on an unrelated matter and was being held pending an arraignment at Attleboro District Court.

Police said on Thursday they had obtained a warrant out of Attleboro District Court for the arrest of Green on charges of breaking and entering a home at nighttime with intent to commit a felony, breaking and entering a vehicle at nighttime with intent to commit a felony, larceny over $1,200, burglary and conspiracy.

Green is suspected of being one of two men who used keys found in an unlocked car in the driveway of the Stearns Avenue hometo enter the home as the residents slept on Dec. 17. On Dec. 18, Mansfield police arrested Kevin Gearhart, 54, of Boston, as the first suspect in the home invasion. Gearhart was also wanted on several burglary charges in Manchester, N.H. in November. Police credit working with Manchester authorities to circulate Gearhart's photo for helping make the arrest.

Police thanked the public for circulating photos of both Gearhart and Green after they were identified as the suspects.
