Should Oscar the Pit Bull Have Been Put Down?

Animal Control Officer Jeff Collins is under fire after another pit bull was euthanized at the Mansfield Animal Shelter, according to the Sun Chronicle. 

Erin Buote, a former volunteer at the shelter, accused collins of recently euthanizing a pit bull named Oscar partially because he doesn't like the breed and seeks a replacement on a petition she started on MoveOn.org. A pit bull named Rocco was euthanized in December.

Town Officials, including Police Chief Ronald Sellon, defended Collins, saying that he followed protocol after receiving confirmation from experts that Oscar was too dangerous to be kept at the shelter.
