Salad Dressing Truck Crash Coats I-495 In Ken's

Workers spent much of the morning trying to clean up spilled salad dressing. The driver suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

MANSFIELD, MA — I-495 was covered in salad dressing Tuesday morning after a Ken's truck smashed into a bridge abutment on the highway. Multiple lanes were closed during the morning commute, and delays lingered into the afternoon.

The driver was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. The dressing was mixed with about 150 gallons of diesel fuel, the Mansfield Fire Department said.

It was only around 3 p.m. when all lanes on 495 South by Exit 11 and the ramp from Route 140 to 495 South were reopened.

The crash is being investigated by State Police.
