60 Seconds on Harris Street: Yesterday by Today

Here are 60 seconds of video from a 10-minute walk Thursday afternoon on Harris Street.

It's a short street with a dogleg running from Elm to Mugford and State.

Like many narrow, curvy Marblehead streets bordered tightly by restored historic homes, Harris whispers to walkers about days when mariners, bakers, shoe makers and fishermen stirred.

The street, especially on a gray fall afternoon, shows the past buttoned neatly to the present.

Family burial plots and graveyards rest between buildings and homes. Wrought iron joins weathered pickets in a leaning fence line.

Between the street's beginning and end colorful leaves fall, swaying below.
