Jeff’s recent role as small-town attorney, Atticus Finch, in To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway was yet another highlight of Jeff’s storied career. His roles have been an eclectic mix – playing parts as varied as George Washington in The Crossing to a Depression-era actor who emerges from the screen and into “real life” in The Purple Rose of Cairo to a pretty dumb dude in Dumb and Dumber to his upcoming part as James Comey in The Comey Rule mini-series coming up later this fall. Many remember Jeff due to his role as Will McAvoy on HBO’s The Newsroom.
Jeff resides in Michigan and is the founder of The Purple Rose Theatre Company and has written 15 plays. However, it’s his songwriting that has been ever-present in his life since he headed off to New York City in 1976 with a guitar. His relationship with his guitar is a close one and it’s become a very important facet of his life as a creative artist.
