Planning Board Gains an Architect

1. Planning Notes: 
The Board of Selectmen and Planning Board met jointly and appointed Robert Schaeffner as an alternate to the Planning Board last week. The board members interviewed Schaeffner and Philip Mann before a majority of the joint board opted for Schaeffner, citing his previous experience serving in town. For his part, Schaeffner said he would bring to the table experience as an architect.

The Old and Historic Districts Commission meets at Abbot Hall in the selectmen's room at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20. Topics t be discussed include work at 28 Beacon St., 4 Ft. Beach Way, 1 Mechanic St., 17 Glover Square, 230B Washington St., 44 Washington St., and 7 Ft. Sewall Lane.
