Daughter Receives Threatening Texts

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

  • At 11:50 a.m., police received a report of an attempted phone scam. "Caller recieved a call from someone indicating they were from medicare and were updating info to send out new cards. Resident said the caller sounded like they were a Chinese male and were in a boiler room. Caller confirmed with medicare that no phone solicitaions were being made."
  • At 1:21 p.m., police received a report that a 30-foot boat's mast and sails were in the water. The harbormaster was notified and was on his way.
  • At 7:24 p.m., a caller reported a hole in the road at Atlantic Avenue and Hawkes Street. The police officer reported that the hole was big enough to cause a car to bottom out. Police notified the town water and sewer supertintendent.
  • At 7:36 p.m., a Shorewood Road caller reported that her daughter was receiving threatening texts. The texts threatened that photoshopped photos of the daughter would be put on the Internet unless she complied with instructions.
  • 9:15 p.m., suspicious activity reported on Washington Street. "White van pulled into his driveway and a female walked from up the street and got in the van carrying a bag. The male  then looked through the bag with a flashlight instead of using the interior light. Van left towards Atlantic ave."
  • 10:08 p.m., a caller from Bowden Street reported a possible domestic situation. The parties were arguing about Facebook.
Thursday, Sept. 5
  • 5:23 a.m., a Maple Street caller reported that a large planter pot was stolen from outside his house
