Exercise Class To Raise Money For Marblehead Girl

MARBLEHEAD, MA – "Sweat For Sophia," an outdoor exercise class at the Village School Track, will raise money for Sophia Smith. Smith was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor last March, according to her GoFundMe page.

Saturday's event, shared by the Marblehead Police Department Facebook page, will go from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and donations are greatly appreciated. A family friend launched the GoFundMe page earlier this month, and it's raised more than $85,000 of its $250,000 goal.

The funds are meant to help the family's medical bills, transportation, and other costs, which aren't covered by insurance. Smith will be getting a new kind of treatment at the Harley Street Clinic in London.
