Face-Sized Hibiscus Grace Pleasant Street Yard
These hibiscus are head turners. And head-sized.
The huge hibiscus in full bloom in the yard at 134 Pleasant Street attract a lot of eyes.
Especially those of photographers, who stop and photo the colorful and huge blooms, said Stephanie Anderson.
She and her husband bought the property, home to the company Sound Oasis, a year ago.

Stephanie noticed the impressive flowers in the yard and, later, after the bush was cut back drastically before winter, worried they wouldn't bloom so spectacularly in summer.
But here they are.

She use to live in Southern California, where hibiscus are a popular flower, but she never saw any the size of these hibiscus.
The pink/red flowers are plate-sized, hat-sized and striking.
Nancy Mantilla, owner of Flores Mantilla florist shop in Marblehead, tells us the flowers are a hibiscus moscheutos, variety Mauvelous — swamp mallow.
"They are gorgeous," she said.
And enormous.
