What: Fireworks
Where: Boston Common
When: July 4, 10:30 p.m.

All eyes will be on Boston for the return of fireworks there as most communities have canceled their displays, mostly due to a lack of planning time and an unwillingness to host so many people right now.

The fireworks are at Boston Common, not the Esplanade, and will follow the Boston Pops' 8 p.m. performance in Tanglewood, a music venue in Western Massachusetts.

The Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination committee said in late May that while the lifting of coronavirus-related restrictions would allow for an event this year, there were concerns that since most other area communities had already canceled their fireworks events having one in
Marblehead would bring overflow crowds of visitors to the town.

But the good news is the Horribles Parade is back for 2021 starting at 9 a.m. at National Grand Bank. So decorate those bikes, scooters, carriages, houses along the route and more, and come on down.

The nearest fireworks will be Monday night at 9:30 over Gloucester harbor.
