Harbormaster Briefs Board on Boat Motor and Traffic Island Work
Five noteworthies from Marblehead.

The harbormaster told members of the Harbors and Waters Board on Monday that after he and Town Administrator Jeff Chelgren reviewed Superior Landscaping's plan for landscaping at the State Street traffic island he contracted with Superior to complete the island make-over.
Harbormaster Webb Russell also told the board that the state would pay 75 percent of the cost to buy a new outboard motor for the pumpout boat, what with the existing engine's failure. The town will pay $2,249 of the total cost: $8,999. The state will reimburse the town for $6,749.Â

Thursday's forecast calls for showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 9 am with a high temperature of 72.

 5. Town Notes:
On Oct. 13, thousands of motorcycles are scheduled to pass through town between 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The ride is in its 25th year and over the years has raised more than a half million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The ride starts at Boston Harley-Davidson in Everett and ends at Shetland Park in Salem.Â
The rain date is Oct. 20.
