Marblehead High Grad Dies During New Zealand Adventure
His death appears to have been an accident.

New Zealand authorities are investigating the death of 2010 Marblehead High School graduate Corey Docherty on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
According to The New Zealand Herald, Docherty was found badly injured in a Queenstown alley beside Base Backpackers last Friday afternoon. He had suffered significant head and back injuries and was rushed to an area hospital. He died Tuesday of what police believe was a stroke.
The newspaper reports that police initially believed Docherty was injured in a fall but the incident remains under investigation.

Friends and family have started a memorial page on Facebook: Remember Corey Docherty. On the page, messages remember Docherty as someone who “lit up the locker room and the ice,” “touched a lot of lives,” “ An incredible spirit ” and ”a tribute to his family.”
A GiveForward.com page initialy started to raise funds for his medical care had raised nearly $12,000 as of Wednesday morning. The page was dedicated to ”one of the best, most lovable and adventurous guys that one could know; Corey ’Dickey Doc’ Docherty.”
