Marblehead Holiday Spirit Shines Through Ice Sculptures
The ice sculptures are on display on the grounds of Abbot Hall.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — With the cororonavirus health crisis — along with a bout of bad weather — taking away so much this holiday season, the Marblehead Festival of Arts is hoping to lift some holiday spirits in town through an ice sculpture display on the upper lawn of Abbot Hall.
"The ice sculptures were originally to be part of the Winter Artisans' Marketplace," said Festival of Arts spokesman Teddi DiCanio. "The Arts Festival was saddened when cold and windy weather left it unable to hold the event as part of this year's Annual Christmas Walk. The idea of the Ice Sculptures, added this year to make the outdoor Artisans' Marketplace a more festive event, survived.
"It might now become an annual tradition."

The sculptures include Candy Cane, Elf, Grinch, Menorah and Snowman.
"The sculptures will be displayed as long as it stays cold and they don't melt," DiCannio said. "So we encourage everyone to go and see the five beautiful sculptures, and bring your camera."
