Marblehead Man Sentenced to Three Months after Head-Butting Incident

A Marblehead man will spend three months in a correctional facility after assaulting a MBTA bus driver.

A Chelsea District Court judge this week sentenced a Marblehead man to three months in a house of correction after he plead guilty to head-butting a MBTA bus driver last year.

According to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, Marblehead resident John Kerivan struck the bus driver has he was picking up passengers at Wonderland Station on July 23, 2012.

Kerivan recently pleaded guilty to assault and battery on a public employee Monday. His trial was about to begin in Chelsea District Court. Judge Benjamin Barnes gave Kerivan the lower sentence but more than Kerivan requested.
