Marblehead Police Log: Shoe Throwing, Lost Batman Wallet

Driving and spitting, a persistent scammer in Arlington, and more items from the Marblehead Police logs.

  • Someone reported getting eight to 10 phone calls daily from an unknown Arlington number that is silent when answered on Thursday around 1 p.m. Officers told the caller to have the phone provider block the number.
  • Police took a report of a man taking pictures of a Clifton Avenue home on Thursday around 5 p.m. When the resident confronted the man, he said he was taking photos of homes and fireboxes for a project. The caller called back later to say that there's an article in the newspaper that confirms the Eagle Scout project.
  • A red bike was returned to its owner after it was temporarily lost or taken on Friday morning on Barry Road.
  • Officers took a report on Sunday afternoon of an Ocean Avenue house that was egged two weeks ago. The caller said they wanted it on file because they had heard someone had been identified in a separate egging incident.
  • Police responded to a report of nearly 10 kids smoking pot in the woods off of Marion Road on Sunday around 4 p.m.
  • Officers responded to a repot of a Poland Springs driver blocking a crosswalk on Pleasant Street on Monday around noon, but found the truck wasn't completely blocking the area.
  • Someone reported an older man driving an old red car up and down State Street, honking and spitting on the ground on Tuesday around 8 a.m. Police didn't find the car.
  • Police took a report of a man, possibly in his 40s, who approached a woman and asked if she was still in high school, and if they could get together at some point on Tuesday around 5 p.m. A friend of the girl came up to her later and said the man did the same thing to her two weeks ago.
  • Police took a report of a Batman wallet that was lost two weeks ago at the farmers market on Wednesday around 11 a.m.
  • Someone reported a white van with California plates labeled "Apple Map" circling the neighborhood on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. Police didn't locate the van, but believe it to be a mapping car.
  • Officers responded to a report of a man in a Pleasant Street parking lot trying to fight people on Wednesday around 6 p.m. The caller said the man had thrown his shoes at a couple in the parking lot.
