Vandals Spray Paint Racial Slur on Rock at Preston Beach

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log:
Thursday, June 5:Â
- At 8:05 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Chestnut Street.
- At 8:10 a.m., a resident entered the police station to report that weed-whacker fell off of a truck and ended up in the middle of the road near the intersection of Mohawk Road and Pleasant Street.
- At 8:24 a.m., police were alerted to a sinkhole developing on West Shore Drive.
- At 8:38 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Risley Road.
- At 9:06 a.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on Haley Road.
- At 9:39 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Lee Street.
- At 10:03 a.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Community Road.
- At 11:09 a.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Humphrey Street.
- At 12:02 p.m., police responded to a report of fresh graffiti on Atlantic Avenue. A resident reported that someone spray-painted the N-word on the large rock at Preston Beach overnight. Trash was located nearby that contained receipts that may lead police to the vandals.
- At 12:57 p.m., a resident entered the police station to report harassment and fraud.
- At 2:36 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Auburndale Road.
- At 3:18 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Lafayette Street.
- At 3:24 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Green Street.
- At 4:15 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment on Prince Street.
- At 5:02 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Tucker Street.
- At 5:31 p.m., police responded to a report of downed wires on Rockaway Avenue.
- At 6:08 p.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Stonybrook Road.
- At 8:23 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Tidewinds Terrace.
- At 8:28 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint near the intersection of Washington and Prospect streets.
- At 10:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a downed wire on Robert Road.
- At 11:55 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on State Street.
- At 12:04 a.m., a resident entered the police station to turn over a found license plate.
- At 3:03 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Merritt Street.
- At 5:55 a.m., a Franklin Street resident called police to report that a pair of diamond earrings had recently gone missing.
- At 6:37 a.m., a resident called police to report that someone broke into his car overnight and stole a checkbook.
