Marblehead Police logs: Man Busted With Heroin Flees Cops

MARBLEHEAD, MA - The following are excerpts from the Marblehead Police Department Logs for Friday, Dec. 15 through Monday, Dec. 18.

Friday, Dec. 15

  • A caller contacted police to ask for a well being check on her daughter after a bad breakup.
  • A Linden Street resident reported a scam call from National Grid stating he owed money.
  • The Marblehead Police Chief reported finding an envelope with money in it.
  • A caller reported a lost wallet on Norman Street near the Senior Center.
  • Officers stopped the driver of a black Jeep after he struck a parked car on Atlantic Avenue and kept driving. After locating the suspected car, a message was left for the owner of the parked car. Police said they would follow up with the suspect regarding a hit and run citation.
  • A dog walker found a lost license plate on Gerry Street and turned it in.
  • A Martin Terrace resident reported some fraud on her credit card.
  • A caller on Beacon Street reported a neighbor burying their grandson's rabbit. The caller was worried it was on conservation land.
  • A caller reported a USPS truck that was driving erratically.
  • A Marblehead man led police on a foot chase starting on School Street and ending on Washington Street. According to a police report, the 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, resisting arrested, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to identify himself properly.

Saturday, Dec. 16

  • A caller reported an odor of gas on the first floor of the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road.
  • A resident on Gregory Street reported seeing a van with no plates parked in her driveway after returning from vacation. According to the owner, a Swampscott resident, he "donated the car to a family in Marblehead."
  • A Winthrop Avenue resident called police to report that her daughter's father had not brought the girl home in the agreed amount of time.

Sunday, Dec. 17

  • A caller reported a car crash on Green Street. According to a police report, one of the cars rolled over, trapping an occupant. After rescuing one of the drivers, a 60-year-old Marblehead woman was arrested and charged with OUI Liquor.
  • A babysitter on High Street called police after locking herself out. Police were able to gain access and let her back in.
  • A Brown Street resident called to report kids smoking pot in a car.
  • An off duty officer called in to report a car crash into a wall on Beacon Street.

Monday, Dec. 18

  • An unidentified man walked into the police station to ask for directions back to Salem. He told police he was walking after meeting some friends.
