Marblehead School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Marblehead is August 29 for grades 1-12 and September 5 for kindergarten and pre-K. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Marblehead School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/29: First Day of School for Grades 1-12
• 8/29 - 8/31: Kindergarten Screening

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First day of School for Kindergarten and Pre-K
• 9/21 - 9/22: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/10: No School (Professional Development Day)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/8: No School for Students (K-8 Parent Conferences, 9-12 PD)
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (December Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (December Recess)
• 1/2: Students Return
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (February Recess)

March

• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/16 - 4/20: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June
