Marblehead School Committee To Leave Seat Unfilled

The Marblehead School Committee last week decided it would not fill a seat left vacant by longtime member Susie Pratt.

MARBLEHEAD, MA - The Marblehead School Committee last week decided it would not fill a seat left vacant by longtime member Susie Pratt, according to Wicked Local.

In her letter of resignation, dated Dec. 5, Pratt wrote, "It is with regret that I write to resign from the Marblehead School Committee. Due to personal circumstances, I am no longer able to give the position the focus and commitment necessary."

School Committee Chairman Meredith Tedford said due to the timing - town elections are held the Tuesday after the second Monday in May and someone could be appointed to fill the seat by mid-January - it would mean that person might only sit for five meetings before another election.
