Marblehead Students Honored At St. Lawrence, SNHU, Tampa

These Marblehead students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Several Marblehead students were among more than 450 members of St. Lawrence University's class of 2021 who earned their degree at the university's commencement ceremonies April 18 at Newell Field House in Canton, New York.

Charlotte Barry graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Barry attended Marblehead High School.

Hayli Poisson graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in performance and communication arts. Poisson attended Gould Academy.

Clara Pollard graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in conservation biology. Pollard attended Marblehead High School.

Edward Sears graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in economics and business in the liberal arts. Sears attended Marblehead High School.

Samuel V. Thorne graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics-mathematics. Thorne attended Marblehead High School.

Lilly Stern, of Marblehead, has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's winter 2021 President's List.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the SNHU President's List.

Nicholas DiGiovanni, of Marblehead, graduated from The University of Tampa on May 8. DiGiovanni graduated with a bachelor of science in finance.

The virtual commencement ceremony included 1,781 undergraduate and graduate candidates.

Hannah James, of Marblehead, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society at Salem State University.

James is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Pingree School announced its honor roll recipients for the second trimester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Honor Roll is calculated at the end of each trimester on the basis of the grades earned during that trimester only. Students in the top 10 percent of each class earn high honors; students in the second 10 percent of each class earn honors; students in the third 10 percent of each class are placed on the Head of School's list.

The honorees were: Katherine Silacci, high honor roll, Anna Souter, high honor roll, Kate Hill, honor roll, Eva Leikikh, high honor roll, Hunter Jones, Head of School's list, Lily O'Meara, Head of School's list, Carter Segal, high honor roll and Mikaela Selby, Head of School's list.
