Marblehead, Swampscott Hazardous Waste Pickup Day
Residents of Marblehead and Swampscott can register to have hazardous waste items picked up at their houses or apartments on Wednesday.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead and Swampscott are combining to provide pickup for household hazardous waste items on Wednesday.
Oil paint, gasoline, pesticides, auto batteries, acidic cleaning products and other similar items can be left curbside where the waste management company ACV Enviro will remove them.
Pre-registration is required here. There is a fee for the service depending on the volume of products that need removal.

Pickup will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. with items placed near the residents (not on the sidewalk or curbside).
There is a maximum of 25 gallons of waste per household. Liquid waste must be placed in closed, sealable containers.

Items not available for collection include: lightbulbs, propane cylinders, fire extinguishers, ammunition, explosives, road flares, drugs, radioactive compounds, insulation, blood and bodily fluids, mercury, syringes, tires, household trash and recyclables, unidentified chemicals and human/animal waste.
