Mutilated Doll Left on Doorstep

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Oct. 12

  • 7:57 a.m., a mutilated doll was left on a Clifton Avenue home's doorstep. "(A mom) reports that this morning they found a doll w/one leg on their front steps. (She) said that both she and her husband were unnerved by it but didn't want an officer to come by today. The doll has a cloth body and plastic head and limbs and had no cloths on. The doll is the size of an American Girl doll. (The mom) said it was clearly intentional and said they keep their porch light on and have a motion light. She will hang on to the doll and requests that if anything else like is reported that we call her to let her know. ... (the father) called and described the doll as mutilated and wanted to see and officer."
  • 11:50 a.m., a FedEx package was reportedly stolen from a Glendale Road home.
  • 1:55 p.m., a child received a neck injury in a trampoline accident on Elm Street and was transported to Children's Hospital.
  • 6:08 p.m., three drunk males were reportedly in the street at Washington Street and State Street and causing a scene. They were gone upon police's arrival.
  • 8:56 p.m., a caller reported a road rage incident on Washington Street. A man reportedly jumped on the caller's car for not stopping for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
  • 9:08 p.m., police received a report of an underage drinking party at a Clifton Heights Lane home. All was quiet when police arrived. They walked the perimeter and did not notice anything going on.
Sunday, Oct. 13
  • 6:34 a.m., a large tree branch was reportedly down on Atlantic Avenue and blocking a lane. Police requested the Tree Department.
  • 7:14 a.m., a small fire was reported in the Star of the Sea Church. It was put out by church personnel. Firefighters aired out smoke from the church.
  • 11:24 p.m., a loud party was reported on Washington Street. Four people were arguing over the Red Sox game. They agreed to keep down the noise for the night.
