Obituary: Kline O. Ingalls, 84, of Marblehead

Kline Oliver Ingalls, age 84, loving husband of Barbara (Titcomb) Ingalls of Marblehead, died at Care Dimensions (Kaplan Family Hospice House) Danvers on Friday May 30, 2014.

Born in Richford, VT on the Canadian border, he attended local schools. Following his graduation from Richford High School, he continued his education at Burdette College and also joined the Massachusetts National Guard. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, Mr. Ingalls continued serving with the National Guard for a total of 12 years. At the same time he established himself as a banker with the First National Bank of Boston and retired as First Assistant Vice President following a 37 year career.

In his retirement, Mr. Ingalls stayed busy. He worked part time, and liked bowling. However, the Philanthropic Lodge is where he spent a great deal of his time. One of his many passions was cooking and serving meals for the Masons in Marblehead and Salem. At home he enjoyed his vegetable garden. He liked the outdoors, fishing and hunting as well as traveling to destinations such as Colorado and San Francisco. He and his wife also enjoyed a trip to Israel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Meredith McDonald and her husband Patrick of Marblehead; the pride and joy of his life, his grandson, Justin, and his nephews Bruce, Ronald and Mark.

He was predeceased by his brother, Hollis and his wife Vilma and a sister, Kathleen and her husband Ray Jennette.
