
1. Old Town House Reopening:Â
Selectmen announced last week that the Old Town House is expected to reopen in fall, some time in the middle to late autumn range. Renovations and improvements include an added an elevator to the old building and made the restrooms accessible to the handicapped.
Kyle Wiley, administrative assistant to the Board of Selectmen, told the board at an earlier meeting that that the Marblehead Forever Committee is planning a week-long series of events to celebrate the reopening of the Old Town House. The events will include a ribbon cutting, historical re-enactments and a parade that will feature high school students, historical re-enactment groups and the disabled community, she said.

There will also be a formal party to honor those who have made the renovations possible.
The Marblehead Forever Committee is also preparing to publish a book honoring the Old Town House and its history.

4. Shore News: The Board of Health has closed Gas House Beach and Grace Oliver Beach. They have failed to meet minimum standards for bathing beaches, according to a notice osted July 25 on the town website.
The beaches will remain closed until we have a passing water quality sample.
5. Fantastic: Starting Friday, Marblehead Little Theatre will present what sounds to be an enchanting drama that they first brought to the stage more than 50 years ago — The Fantasticks.
