Marblehead Reduces Quorum For Special Town Meeting
The special town meeting with 36 warrants is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Community Center parking lot.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — A quorum of 30 residents is all that will be needed to vote on the 36 articles on the warrant for the Marblehead special town meeting scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Community Center parking lot.
The Marblehead Board of Selectmen approved the reduction of the quorum from 300 residents to 30. Reducing the quorum does not limit the number of residents who may attend town meeting, but allows Town Meeting to proceed with a minimum of 30 individuals present.
The special town meeting will be held under a tent at the community center due to coronavirus-related gathering restrictions. The town meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
