Reward Offered In 'Shocking' Marblehead Animal Cruelty Case
The California-based Animal Defense Fund is offering $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The California-based Animal Defense Fund is offering $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person who shot a rabbit and turtle with a crossbow in Marblehead earlier this month.
Both incidents occurred near West Shore Drive in Marblehead. The Turtle, who was found on June 1, is recovering at the Southborough-based Turtle Rescue League's rehabilitation center. The rabbit, which was found with an arrow in it on June 4, ran off before police could grab it.
Police called it "shocking animal cruelty" and are asking for anyone with information on the person(s) involved or the rabbit to call 781-631-1212.
