Rio Olympics: Marblehead's Shalene Flanagan Seeks Another Medal in Marathon
Good luck to Marblehead's Shalene Flanagan, who's running the marathon for Team USA in the Rio Olympics on Sun., Aug. 14!
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead-born Shalene Flanagan will seek to add to her Olympic medal collection next week on the biggest sports stage on the planet.
Flanagan, who won a bronze medal in the 10,000 meters in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will run the marathon on Sun., Aug. 14 in the Rio Olympics.
Flanagan, 35, participating in her fourth straight Olympics; she's one of only a handful of Team USA members with four Olympic appearances.

Flanagan grew up in her Marblehead and now lives in Portland, Oregon. She appeared on the cover of the latest Runner's World magazine.
