Robert 'Bob' Stephen Brown: Family Man, Teacher, Ship Model Builder

Brown taught at Collins Middle in Salem for 10 years.

Robert “Bob” Stephen Brown passed away at home on March 27, 2015, with his family by his side. He was a wonderful husband to Catherine Brown, father to Lisa Brown-Hooper and grandfather to RJ and Alex Hooper all of Marblehead and a wonderful mentor to their cousin, Jared McAvoy.

Bob grew up in Newton and was the son of the late Sarah and Sidney Brown. He graduated from Newton High School and obtained his Bachelors degree from Northeastern University. He also obtained an MBA from Babson College. In his later years, he graduated from Salem State University with his Masters of Science in Teaching. Even though he had several jobs earlier in his career, his last ten years of teaching Tech Ed at Collins Middle School in Salem was his favorite.

Bob was also a member of the BSA Owners Club, The Vintage Sport Club of America, the Ship Model Club of the USS Constitution and a member of the brotherhood of Temple Emanu-El.

His Memorial Service will be held at Temple Emanu-El, 393 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10 AM. Interment at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Memorial observance at his late residence following the interment on Wednesday until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Temple Emanu-El or the Marblehead Council on Aging, 10 Humphrey Street, Marblehead, MA 01945. Arrangements by Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem.
