Seth Moulton Dares GOP To Support Russia Investigation With Amendment

Rep. Seth Moulton will introduce an amendment that would guarantee "adequate funding" for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Seth Moulton is expected to introduce an amendment on Wednesday afternoon that would guarantee funding for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible Russian interference.

Moulton will formally introduce the amendment at the Budget Committee hearing on Wednesday, which would support "full funding of the Special Counsel investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election and any individuals in the United States who may have colluded in those efforts," according to a copy of the amendment.

In his prepared remarks, Moulton – who represents the 6th Congressional District – said that as the representative of Salem, Massachusetts, he can assure the committee that the investigation isn't a political witch hunt.

"This is about protecting the integrity of our democracy from a country that has conducted an aggressive campaign to undermine democratic governments throughout the globe, and has thousands of nuclear warheads," read Moulton's prepared remarks.

Moulton references meetings between members of President Trump's campaign and Russian government officials and oligarchs, and Trump's representatives' subsequent testimonies to Congress.
