Join us for a seaside exploration in Marblehead!
Beach Exploration: Wednesday, Aug. 14 / 10-11:30 am
Enjoy a morning at Grace Oliver Beach during low tide and discover the living wonders of the sandy coastline. We'll walk across the mudflats to Crowninshield Island, where we will search for tiny fish, hermit crabs, periwinkles, and other sea creatures living in this delicate habitat. Explore the five-acre island and its unusual variety of landforms, from granite rocks and tidal pools to sandy beach, salt marsh, and wooded hilltop.

Instructions and Directions: Meets at Grace Oliver Beach in Marblehead. Directions will be sent. Wear footwear that can get wet and muddy. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch.

3. Library Notes:

Teen Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party

Thurs., Aug. 15, 3pm – 5pm in the Lower Level Meeting Room at the Abbot Public Library Stop by the library to attend a medieval feast. The group will be watching "The Princess Bride" and feasting on pizza to celebrate the end of summer reading program. No sign-ups necessary.

Tickets are now on sale for Marblehead Little Theatre’s upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, running August 16-25th.

5. Town Notes:

The Board of Selectmen is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Abbot Hall. Among the agenda items is an announcement from the School Committee chairman on how the committee's vacancy will be filled.
