Trash and Recycling Schedule for the Holiday Week
Noteworthy items in Marblehead today, Friday, Aug. 30.

According to the Marblehead town website:
In observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 2nd, trash & recycling will be picked up one day late on the following days:
Monday trash & recycling will be collected Tuesday, September 3rdÂ
Tuesday trash & recycling will be collected Wednesday, September 4th
Wednesday trash & recycling will be collected Thursday, September 5th
Thursday trash & recycling will be collected Friday, September 6th
Friday trash & recycling will be collected Saturday, September 7th

The Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, September 2nd.

Friday's forecast calls for mostly sunshine and a high temperature of 74.

- High tide:7:20 a.m.
- Low tide: 1:10 p.m.
- Sunset: 7:20 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 22, starting at 1 p.m. there will be a North Shore Appreciation Parade for veterans starting at Federal Street in Lynn, to Western Avenue North to Chestnut Street east to Goodrich Street and ending at Lynn English High School.
At Lynn English High School there will be food, live music, a Civil War recampment, Kisoks from each of the armed services, a static display of military vehicles, parachute jump and much more.
4. More Town Notes:
The Fort Sewall Committee meets Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Abbot Hall. The committee will talk about requests fro proposals for a Fort Sewall project.

The Alzheimer’s Association 2013 Northeastern Massachusetts Walk to End Alzheimer’s® will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 200 Brickstone Square in Andover, Massachusetts.
