2 Assabet Grads Honored as Business Leaders

The Worcester Business Journal recently named two graduates from Assabet Valley in its annual '40 Under Forty' list.

For the 16th year, The Worcester Business Journal asked for nominations for up and coming business leaders in the area who are still under forty years old. According to an announcement, after interviews with the judges, led by Karen Chapman, president of the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce, the 40 Under Forty honorees were selected and treated to a lovely breakfast and photo session. They will be further recognized at the annual 40 Under Forty Awards event at Mechanics Hall in Worcester on Sept. 16.

This year’s group includes two Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School graduates: Alexis (Krieger) Dascoli and Ashley (Johnson) Gauthier. Dascoli is the Founder, Owner and Designer of WearLex/AEKDesigns, LLC, in Marlborough, a boutique jewelry business she began at the age of 28. After attending Quinsigamond Community College and Fitchburg State University, she also received a diploma as a GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional. She was also once named as Marlborough’s Person of the Year, and sponsors a scholarship for female students at Assabet Valley who plan to continue their education in the jewelry or design field.

Gauthier is the Owner and Stylist at Salon Exquisite in Worcester, which she opened in 2011. She is a board member for the Young Professional Women’s Association of Worcester, the membership coordinator for The Professional Women’s Networking Group of Central Mass, and an active member of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
