Alice Kasaras, Professional Singer, Miss Hudson, Dies at 96.
Alice Kasaras of Marlborough performed and recording with many major bands in the 1930s.

Alice D. (Morris) Kasaras, 96, of Marlborough, MA, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Broadreach at Liberty Common, Chatham, MA.
Born in Briston, RI, she was the daughter of the Late Manuel and Mary (Botelho) Morris and the wife of the late John Kasaras, to whom she had been married for 54 years at the time of his death in 2010.

A supervisor at the former Cushing Hospital, Framingham, she retired in 1987 after 27 years of caring for patients.
A talented vocalist, Alice performed and recorded with many major bands in the mid 1930’s in both Boston and NYC. Her love for music continued throughout her life. She was honored to receive the title of Miss Hudson in 1937. She enjoyed traveling and shopping, but nothing gave her more pleasure and satisfaction than raising her children and watching them raise their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, John Kasaras of Upton, Jay Kasaras and his wife Sandra of Marlborough and Michael Costa and his wife Paula of Westborough, her daughters, Joanne Scorzelli and her husband Joseph of Marlborough and Cheryl Kavanagh and her husband Richard of Hudson, her sister, Evelyn Entwhistle of PA, her sister- in-law, Shirley Morris of Hudson and her brother-in-law, Alfred Falconi of Marlborough, her grandchildren, Richard Kavanagh, Christopher Kavanagh and his wife Bena, Courtney Frazee and her husband Dan, Brett Costa , Alexis Clark and her husband Bryan, John, Nicholas and Katrina Kasaras and Corey Kane as well as 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Edward Morris and Dorothy Falconi.
