This Thursday, August 18th at 10:30am, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas will visit Tetra Tech in Marlborough, to tour the company and meet with executives and staff members.
Tetra Tech. is a global engineering consulting firm specializing in energy, water, international development, environment, and infrastructure. It has 16,000 employees worldwide in 400 offices, including three offices located in Massachusetts’ Third Congressional District (Westford, Littleton, and Marlborough). Tetra Tech recently received a three-year, $125 million contract from USAID in Afghanistan to provide architecture-engineering services, construction oversight, and quality assurance testing. Tetra Tech has previously partnered with USAID and this contract symbolizes the continuation of that important partnership.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congresswoman Tsongas has traveled to Afghanistan six times and recognizes the important role groups like USAID play in rebuilding the country’s infrastructure. USAID itself has been a presence in Afghanistan since 2001 and with the help of companies like Tetra Tech, has been able to aid Afghanistan in the creation of new wells, schools, and roads. The Congresswoman is a strong advocate for businesses in the Third District and meets regularly with employers, employees and company officials from a wide variety of industries to discuss ways the federal government can be a partner in job growth and boosting local economies.
