Edmund Hersom, Air Force Vet, Owner Hersom Plumbing and Heating, Dies at 84
Hersom grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School. Services are this weekend.

Edmund R. Hersom, 84, of Marlborough died Monday June 1, 2015 at The Reservoir Center for Heath & Rehabilitation. He was the husband of Joan H. (Flynn) Hersom for 61 years. He was born in Medford, raised in Waltham, the son of the late Roscoe and Edith (Babineau) Hersom and was a 1950 graduate of Waltham High School.
He was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War and was stationed at March AFB in California. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He owned and operated Hersom Plumbing & Heating in Marlborough for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed refinishing furniture, restoring cars and boats, flying model airplanes, and boating & camping with his family. Ed loved his dogs Cassie and Misty. He was a hardworking man who was passionate in whatever he did in life.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Diane H. Landry, and her husband Craig of Holliston and Debra A. Wall, and her husband Tom of Auburn; a son Brian R. Hersom, and his fiancé Lesa Ann Dittmer of Cocoa Beach, Florida; a brother Paul Hersom, and his wife Peggy of Burlington; five grandchildren, Shanna and Peter Landry, Patrick, Andrew and James Wall; many nephews and nieces. He was the father of Clifford E. Hersom of Marlborough who died in 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday June 6 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Matthias Church, Hemenway Street. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MSPCA at MSPCA.org. All are invited to sign Ed’s online guestbook at www.CollinsFuneral.com.
