Framingham Man Charged After Marlborough Pizza Shop Vandalism

The 39-year-old was arrested and charged early Sunday morning after throwing a brick through a pizza shop window, police said.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Framingham man was arrested and charged early Sunday morning after an apparent break-in attempt at a Marlborough pizza shop.

According to police, Marlborough officers went to the Marlborough House of Pizza, 280 Main St., at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of someone trying to get into the restaurant. The glass front door was smashed with a brick.

Police said Richard Hughes, 39, of Framingham, was spotted walking away from the scene. He was detained while police reviewed surveillance video from the pizza shop, which showed Hughes breaking the door, police said.

Hughes was charged with disturbing the peace, attempting to commit a crime and vandalizing property, police said.
