Framingham, Natick Men Charged After Vacuum Heist In Marlborough

Police said Patrick Profit, of Framingham, walked out of a Target with two high-dollar Dyson vacuums.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Two men were arrested and charged this week after attempting to steal two pricey Dyson vacuums from the Target store in Marlborough.

According to police, Patrick Profit, 56, of Framingham, walked out of the Boston Post Road store on Tuesday afternoon carrying two vacuums valued at almost $800. Profit left the store in an SUV.

Nearby, officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over. Profit was inside along with Ernest Poole, 56, of Natick. The Dyson vacuums were also in the vehicle, along with about $1,000 in power tools taken from the Marlborough Home Depot, police said.

Profit was charged with conspiracy and two counts of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Poole was charged with receiving stolen property worth more than $1,200, conspiracy and driving without a license, according to Marlborough police.
