Choking Man Caused 4-Car Collision Along I-495 In Marlborough
The Friday morning crash closed southbound I-495, sending one person to Marlborough Hospital.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A driver crossed the I-495 median during the Friday morning rush hour, smashing head-on into another vehicle, according to state police.
The 34-year-old driver, a Bellingham man, was choking on food at around 7:30 a.m. when he lost control of his car and crossed the wide, grassy median into the southbound lanes, state police said. He hit an SUV driven by a 66-year-old Tyngsborough man.
Two other vehicles were involved, but the drivers were not injured, police said. The Tyngsborough man was taken to Marlborough Hospital for minor injuries. The 34-year-old was examined at the scene.

I-495 reopened at around 8:30 p.m. after MassDOT cleared debris off the highway. The crash also caused long delays along I-290, state police reported.
