Howie Amero, Korean War Vet, Marlborough Mechanic, Dies at 80

Amero was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of and the Marlborough Moose Lodge in Marlborough.

Howard G. “Howie” Amero, 80, died Sunday June 28, 2015 after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Linda (Wade) Amero to whom he was married for 29 years. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Howard J. and Melena (Morrison) Amero and lived in Marlborough for 50 years.

Amero was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was employed as a truck driver for the former Everett Auto Parts in Marlborough and as a mechanic for the former Dick’s Gulf Station in Marlborough. Howie was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3565 of Marlborough, the Marlborough Moose Lodge and the Riverside Rod and Gun Club in Hudson.

Visiting hours were held on Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Rd. Sudbury MA 01776.
