19-Year-Old Critical, 4 More Injures In I-290 Crash: Police
State police corrected themselves Friday morning, saying the 19-year-old Brimfield woman is not dead.

MARLBORO, MA — The 19-year-old Brimfield woman who police said died in Thursday's crash on I-290 is in fact alive. State police issued a correction Friday morning saying the woman was in critical condition, not deceased.
State police said the 19-year-old was one of four people in Dodge Caliber that was slowing for traffic when it was crashed into from behind by a Jeep. Her identity was being withheld as of Thursday night.
The woman was in the back of the Dodge. All four passengers were transported to UMass-Lakeside Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep, a 25-year-old West Boylston man, was also transported to UMass-Lakeside.
An investigation will determine if charges will be sought.
