Local Fixture, Property Owner Roxanne Breazzano Dies at 42

Roxanne M. (Green) Breazzano, 42, suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in Sudbury and died Friday, April 24, 2015, at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham, MA, with her family by her side.
Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of Rosalie (St. Pierre) Green of Marlborough and the late Robert Green. She was the wife of David Breazzano of Sudbury. A graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1990 and Mt. Ida College, Newton, Roxanne earned her degree in Fashion Merchandising.

Roxanne joined DDJ Capital Management in 1996 where she met her husband. Following their marriage in 1998, when she moved from Marlborough to Sudbury, she sought other endeavors. In 2001, she acquired the former Oxford Restaurant on Rt. 20, Marlborough, and following a major renovation, opened and operated the 109 Lakeside Pub for several years. After she was able to acquire the adjacent Rocco’s restaurant in order to secure adequate parking, she embarked on an extensive renovation of the two properties. She astutely determined that it was better to be a landlord than restauranteur, so she leased the completed buildings to Allora Ristorante and Ernie Houde Real Estate. Roxanne continued to grow her property management and real estate holding companies which now include residential apartments and commercial properties in Marlborough, Hudson and Sudbury.

But her special gift was to make people smile and laugh. She had a big heart and giant personality. She magically could entertain her friends with stories about her daily adventures and misadventures. Her sense of humor was quick and sharp. She also discreetly helped many of her friends in their time of need. Roxanne was active with the Sudbury American Legion. Among her many contributions, she organized an annual fundraising drive to ensure that all graves at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, where her brother David is buried, had wreaths during the Christmas holiday season. She and her husband have established a charitable trust and have supported numerous educational, social and medical endeavors. Roxanne was a private and unassuming person so many of her friends were unaware of the extent of her business and philanthropic activities.

Roxanne was a loving wife and enjoyed spending time with her husband. They frequented many local restaurants together and were fixtures at many of these establishments. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world. They vacationed in Hawaii, Bora Bora, Italy,the Greek Islands, England, Switzerland, France, Ireland and the Caribbean. They also traveled extensively throughout the United States. This year, they watched the Patriots’ Super Bowl Victory in CostaRica and had just returned from their third trip to Nevis on March 30th. She often accompanied her husband on numerous business trips to Europe and her constant companionship was a great joy to Dave.

Roxanne loved her Siberian Huskies, Daisy, Kira and Lucy. However, she had a special place in her heart for her first husky, Trouble, who passed away several years ago, followed the next year by the loss of Baily. Stories about her dogs’ antics were common on Roxanne’s Facebook postings.

Besides her husband and her mother, she is survived by her brother, Robert Green and his wife, Lisa of Edgewood, NM; her mother-in-law,Dona Robinson of Edinburg, NY; her step-sons, Jeremy Breazzano and Michael Breazzano, both of Pittsburgh, PA and D. Matthew Breazzanowho is attending the Johnson Graduate School of Business at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY; her uncle, Charles St. Pierre, of Orange, MA; her brother-in-law,John Breazzano of Manlius, NY; her sisters-in-law,Virginia Green of Leominster, MA, Donalee Breazzano of LaPlata, MD, Debra Breazzano of Colorado Springs, CO and Darcie Breazzano of Cornelius, NC; her cousin,Laura St. Pierre, her husband Tobin Ritt and their daughters, Amelia and Chloe of Northampton, MA; and her nieces and nephews, Shelby, Jessica,and Garrett Green and Adam, Steven, Mark and Luke Breazzano.
She was also the sister of the late David Green, who died in 2012 and Richard Green, who died in 2004.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 3-7 pm and Friday, May 1 from 3-7 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough, MA.
