Man Kicked, Spit On Marlborough Officers During Arrest: Police

The man was pulled over recently at the 99 Restaurant when police suspected he was driving under the influence.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough police say a 20-year-old city man fought with officers early Thursday morning during an arrest near the 99 Restaurant along the Boston Post Road.

According to police, officers went to the restaurant near 3 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a possibly intoxicated man attempting to drive away.

When police arrived, they say they found Andrew Deleon driving away from the restaurant, and stopped him nearby along Glen Street. When police got Deleon out of his car, he began kicking the officers, and then spit on them while he was handcuffed, police said.

Police said Deleon was drunk at the time. After his arrest, they charged him with driving without a license, operating under the influence, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer and possession of marijuana.
