Man Shot At Marlborough Apartment Complex

The suspect fled the scene of the Briarwood Lane shooting Thursday morning, according to Marlborough police.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A man was shot and wounded Thursday morning at a Marlborough apartment complex, and police are still searching for the shooter.

Marlborough police responded to The Heights At Marlborough complex off of Hosmer Street around 9:30 Thursday on a report of a shooting. Police said gunman was gone by the time they arrived.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident, but officers were stationed at the nearby Jaworek Elementary School all day Thursday as a precaution.

Thursday's incident was at least the second involving gunfire in Marlborough this week. Near midnight on Tuesday, Marlborough police arrested a 23-year-old city man at Funky Murphy's after he fired a gun inside the bar. He was grazed by the bullet, police said, and was charged with firing a gun within 500 feet of a building, defacing property and an assortment of weapons charges.
