Marlborough 2019 Curbside Leaf Collection Happening Now

The two-week fall 2019 leaf collection period began on Monday and continues until after Thanksgiving.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Leaf-raking season is just about over (hopefully), and the city of Marlborough is now collecting all the autumn refuse you've collected. The 2019 leaf pickup began on Nov. 18 and will run through Nov. 29.

But there are a few rules to keep in mind, like that Marlborough will not accept yard waste in plastic bags.

Here's more from a Department of Public Works flyer:

The City of Marlborough’s Department of Public Works is pleased to announce that the curbside collection of yard waste is again set for two weeks this fall. Those weeks are: Monday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 29.

The program will only occur during these two weeks. Please plan accordingly. Residents currently being served by the city’s trash collection program (1-3 family homes and condominiums) are eligible for yard waste services. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS ALLOWED!

All other small brush, trimmings, leaves, etc. should be placed in biodegradable paper bags or old trash barrels for this collection. DO NOT USE YOUR WHEELED CARTS! Bags and barrels must be at the curbside each week by Monday at 7:00 AM.

Yard waste for the purposes of this collection is defined as leaves, small brush (branches 1-inch maximum diameter) and shrub clippings. The maximum collection weight allowed for both the biodegradable paper bags and trash barrels is 50 lbs. Grass clippings are not permitted and will not be collected if placed curbside.
