Marlborough Cancels Memorial Day Parade Due To Coronavirus
Mayor Arthur Vigeant has also announced other program cancellations, and new deadlines for tax and utility bills.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Mayor Arthur Vigeant made a number of announcements on Tuesday regarding the coronavirus, including the cancellation of the city's annual Memorial Day parade. The May holiday will still be observed even without the parade, Vigeant said.
As of Tuesday evening, 406 Marlborough residents had tested positive for coronavirus and nine had died. Subtracting deaths and 205 people who have recovered, there are now 192 active cases.

The personal property tax payment deadline has been extended to June 1, and demand notices for motor vehicle excise tax won't go out until April 30. Due dates of water and sewer bills are extended 60 days.
A meal delivery program for Marlborough students and their families will continue. The program delivers meals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using school bus routes. Find more on meal delivery times and locations on the school district website.

The mayor's public service internship program is canceled this year. Vigeant also suspended a program that allows seniors who volunteer to get a property tax discount.
The resident transfer station, 856 Boston Post Road East, will remain open through the end of May for drop off of yard waste, garbage, and recycling. Residents can drop off a limited amount of items (four bags of biodegradable waste, one bag of garbage) without a sticker, but proof of residency via a drivers license or registration is required. Curbside yard waste collection will run through May 8.
